Chicago arrest ends manhunt for suspect in Seattle murder and Kenosha double killing

A 33-year-old man wanted in connection with multiple shootings across two states was taken into custody in Chicago on Tuesday evening, abc7chicago.com reports.

Michael O'Neal Fleming faces a murder charge in Seattle, where he is accused of carrying out a fatal shooting at a gas station earlier this month. Court documents filed in that case form the basis of the current charge.

Kenosha police have also named O'Neal Fleming as a person of interest in the deaths of his mother and her husband. Officers responding to a welfare check just before 3 p.m. on Monday found Rodney Brushwood, 57, and Rena O'Neal, 59, shot dead at their home on the 5500-block of Washington Road.

Before his arrest, Kenosha police issued a public alert describing O'Neal Fleming as "a person believed to be armed, dangerous and unstable."

Authorities said that following his Chicago arrest, detectives will coordinate with the Kenosha County District Attorney's Office to pursue extradition proceedings and bring charges in Wisconsin.
