Canon woman charged with murder after fatal vehicle strike during domestic dispute
A 32-year-old woman from Canon, Georgia, has been charged with murder following a deadly domestic incident on Cheek Drive, foxcarolina.com reports.
Franklin County Sheriff's Office deputies and first responders were dispatched to the scene on Thursday evening after a call came in to Franklin County 911 at approximately 10:21 p.m.
Roy Adam Gentry, also of Canon, was struck by a vehicle during the incident and subsequently airlifted to North East Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. He later died from his injuries.
A joint investigation led by the Criminal Investigations Division of the Franklin County Sheriff's Office identified Lisa Marie Peeples as the individual involved. According to investigators, Peeples drove the vehicle toward at least two people at the scene, striking Gentry and causing his death. The incident occurred in the presence of at least two children.
Peeples was arrested and charged with murder. The sheriff's office noted that additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation continues.
The case is set to be presented to the Franklin County Grand Jury at its next session.
