Google News MT — Crime (en) reports that Cicero police have issued a first-degree murder warrant for Jonathan Carvillo-Varella, 35, in connection with the killing of Eduardo Mora Martinez, 40, whose body was discovered at his home on South Cicero Avenue on 28 August 2024.

Friends found Mora Martinez after conducting a well-being check when he failed to show up for work and did not answer his phone. He was found on the bedroom floor with head injuries. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office determined he was believed to have been strangled.

The warrant was issued exactly one year to the day of the victim's discovery. Cicero police have released images of Carvillo-Varella, described as a Venezuelan national, and said they are actively seeking his arrest.
