Long Island Man Faces Federal Charges Over Social Media Death Threats Against Trump and Pirro

A Long Island man has been charged with interstate communication of a threat to injure after allegedly posting video rants on X in which he threatened to kill President Donald Trump and U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro, Law & Crime reports.

Daniel Kretsinger, a resident of Hauppauge — a hamlet approximately one hour from New York City — tagged Pirro directly in the posts and filmed selfie videos in which he described plans to travel to Washington, D.C. and shoot both officials, according to a federal complaint.

In one video posted on June 30 and addressed to Pirro, Kretsinger allegedly said: "You're such a lying despicable piece of s— I'm specifically targeting you when I come to Washington D.C. and put a bullet directly between your eyes. And if Trump keeps up his bulls— I may kill the president too."

Approximately 15 minutes later, Kretsinger allegedly posted a second video from his X account, again in reply to a post made by Pirro. "I'm gonna come to DC very f—in soon sweetheart and I'm gonna put a bullet in your f—in head," he said, according to the complaint.

Law enforcement agents tracked Kretsinger to Hauppauge and interviewed him. He allegedly confirmed ownership of the X account and admitted to having traveled to Washington, D.C., Florida, and Long Island in search of Pirro. A separate written reply attributed to him in the complaint read: "F— america f— fox news and f— Trump."

Pirro, a former Fox News host, was appointed U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia in 2025.

Kretsinger was not detained pending trial. Instead, a court released him into an inpatient psychiatric treatment program in New York. As conditions of his release, he is required to wear an ankle monitor and is barred from accessing social media.
