Oklahoma cop and wife charged with stealing $74K from 82-year-old man

Andrew and Abbigale McVicker allegedly moved into an elderly man's home and drained over $74,000 for trips, concerts, and cruises. Both were arrested and charged with exploitation of an elderly person.

An Alva, Oklahoma police officer and his wife face criminal charges after investigators determined they allegedly siphoned more than $74,000 from an 82-year-old man's finances to fund vacations, concert tickets, and other personal expenses, Law & Crime reports.

Andrew McVicker, 28, and his wife Abbigale McVicker, 24, were arrested and charged with exploitation of an elderly person and conspiracy, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) announced.

According to a press release from the OSBI, the investigation began in March 2026 after the Oklahoma Department of Human Services Adult Protective Services received information about possible exploitation of the elderly man in Alva. Department of Human Services investigators learned that the McVickers had moved into the man's home in 2023. Andrew McVicker was subsequently added to the victim's bank accounts and designated as his power of attorney.

The case was later transferred to the Woods County District Attorney's Office, which requested OSBI involvement in June.

OSBI agents determined that Andrew McVicker withdrew approximately $15,900 directly from the victim's bank accounts between April 2025 and May 2026. Investigators also identified more than $25,000 in Cash App transfers from McVicker to his wife made between January 2024 and March 2026 — all conducted "without the victim's knowledge or consent," according to the OSBI. In total, authorities estimated the financial exploitation of the victim exceeded $74,000.

Credit card records reviewed during the investigation revealed purchases at restaurants, online retailers, salons, movie theaters, and antique auctions, as well as charges for a cruise and trips to Mexico. Concert tickets were also among the documented expenses, including tickets to a show in Salt Lake City. Oklahoma City NBC affiliate KOCO reported that Abbigale McVicker posted about that concert on TikTok with the caption: "Talk s— about us all you want … we're either on a trip, or planning when we're leaving next!"

Investigators additionally uncovered a deed that would have transferred ownership of the elderly man's home to Andrew McVicker upon the victim's death, according to KOCO.

Court documents cited by KOCO described the victim as a vulnerable adult who was "barely able to walk and did not appear to be taking care of his hygiene." During an interview with investigators, the man was unable to confirm whether he had given the couple permission to use his credit card for any of the purchases.

Arrest warrants for both McVickers were issued August 28 by the Woods County District Court. The following day, officers from the Enid Police Department took the couple into custody in Enid, Oklahoma, the OSBI confirmed.

Andrew McVicker remains employed by the Alva Police Department but has been placed on administrative leave "pending the outcome of the investigation." The city of Alva issued a statement acknowledging the allegations and pledging full cooperation.

"While the City of Alva does not comment on personnel matters, nor matters of ongoing investigations, administration and staff have taken immediate and appropriate action based on the limited information provided," the city said. "We understand the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is conducting an investigation; the City of Alva has and will cooperate fully with said investigation."

Both McVickers were released after each posted bond of $20,000. They are scheduled to appear in court on October 13.
