A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run at an intersection in south Charlotte on Wednesday night. Police are investigating whether a second nearby crash is connected.

At approximately 8:40 p.m., the victim was hit at the intersection of Nations Crossing Road and Woodlawn Road. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officers spoke with witnesses at the scene, who confirmed the vehicle left without stopping after the collision.
Police did not disclose what led up to the crash.
Shortly after the fatal incident, officers also responded to a single-vehicle crash near the intersection of Woodlawn Road and Old Pineville Road — roughly two-tenths of a mile from the first scene. Investigators said it was not yet clear whether the two incidents were related and stated they were working to determine a possible connection.
