Pretty Ricky's Spectacular Smith faces sexual assault lawsuit in Arizona

Spectacular Smith, a founding member of the R&B/hip-hop group Pretty Ricky, is facing a civil lawsuit filed by an Arizona woman who alleges he sexually assaulted and battered her following contact made through Instagram, tmz.com reports.

According to the complaint, filed in August by a woman identified as Alexis Dieng, Smith initially messaged her in October of last year asking for restaurant recommendations. Dieng alleges that over time he cultivated her trust and arranged an in-person meeting.

The suit states that Smith provided an initial meeting location but subsequently changed it to a residence in Maricopa County. Dieng says she arrived there alone at approximately 10:30 PM the following night.

She alleges that Smith initiated physical contact and then engaged in sexual intercourse without her consent. Dieng further claims he placed his hands on her neck and applied pressure, restricting her breathing. She also alleges he recorded all or part of the incident without her knowledge or consent.

Benjamin Taylor, an attorney representing Dieng, told tmz.com: "We plan to seek justice for our client."

Smith rose to prominence as a founding member of Pretty Ricky, whose singles "Grind With Me" and "Your Body" charted in the mid-2000s. The Miami native later moved into entrepreneurship, founding the social media company Adwizar.

TMZ said it reached out to Smith for comment but had received no response at the time of publication.
