Rapper Sean Kingston — born Kisean Anderson, 34 — was arrested in Fort Irwin, California, on multiple fraud and theft charges, the Broward County Sheriff's Office announced Thursday, according to abc7news.com. Investigators said he was taken into custody "without incident" and would be booked into a San Bernardino jail.

The arrest followed a SWAT raid on Kingston's rented mansion in Southwest Ranches, Florida, a community approximately 22 miles southwest of Miami. Earlier that Thursday, the rapper's mother, Janice Turner, was arrested on fraud charges at the same residence, Miami ABC affiliate WPLG reported.

Attorney Robert Rosenblatt, who represents both Kingston and Turner, told WPLG: "We are aware of some of the allegations" being made against the two. "We look forward to addressing these in court and are confident of a successful resolution for Shawn and his mother," Rosenblatt said.

Before his own arrest was confirmed, Kingston posted on Instagram: "People love negative energy! I am good, and so is my mother! ... My lawyers are handling everything as we speak."

ABC News said it had reached out to a representative for Kingston for further comment. No additional details on the specific charges were provided in the initial announcement from the Broward County Sheriff's Office.
