A man was detained at gunpoint in Kingston, Massachusetts, on Friday following a road rage incident in the nearby town of Halifax, nbcboston.com reports.

Kingston police pulled the vehicle over near a restaurant on Main Street, close to Route 3, after it was spotted in the area. The driver was argumentative and initially resisted commands but was eventually detained without incident.

Officers found the man in possession of what they described as a realistic-looking pellet gun. The driver told officers he had been "just showing it to someone," according to Kingston police.

The road rage incident, which involved what appeared to be a firearm, was first reported at around 5 p.m. in Halifax. Police identified a vehicle believed to be connected to the incident and tracked it to Kingston, prompting the stop.

Kingston police subsequently transferred the driver into the custody of Halifax police. Halifax has not released information about the driver's identity or the charges he may be facing.

Bodycam footage from the detention was captured, showing the suspect being stopped by officers during the Friday afternoon confrontation.
