Toxicology reports have established that diphenhydramine — a common over-the-counter antihistamine — was present at fatal levels in all six people found dead in a Mechanicville apartment, cbs6albany.com reports, citing Mechanicville Police. The official findings were released on 11 September.

Mitragynine, the primary active compound in kratom, was detected in four of the six victims, police said.

The six family members — Amy Steadman, her daughter Sarah Myers, and Myers' four children — were discovered deceased at Steadman's Harris Avenue apartment on 23 June. The victims included Harper Harmon, 13, Hudson Harmon, 11, and twins Gavin and Gracelynn Harmon, 10.

Investigators believe the deaths occurred around 10 June, nearly two weeks before the bodies were found. Toxicology screenings are described as consistent with the findings of the broader police investigation.

Authorities said evidence indicates that all of the children were willfully poisoned. Gavin Harmon was also fatally stabbed, according to police.
