The case, one of the most high-profile unsolved killings in music history, reached this late stage after decades without a formal prosecution. Duane "Keffe D" Davis, who has publicly claimed knowledge of the attack, is the defendant.

Shakur was shot multiple times in Las Vegas on 7 September 1996 and died six days later. The drive-by shooting occurred after a boxing match at the MGM Grand.

Davis was indicted in 2023, with prosecutors alleging he orchestrated the killing from inside the car from which shots were fired. He has pleaded not guilty.

Closing arguments represent the final opportunity for both prosecution and defence to address the jury before deliberations begin.
