Two men have been charged with stunt driving and resisting arrest in St. Louis City following a series of street takeover attempts on Saturday, firstalert4.com reports.

St. Louis Metropolitan Police identified the suspects as Brandon Mills, 20, from Centralia, Illinois, and Diamond Bolden, 41, from Black Jack, Missouri. Both face charges linked to a street takeover and resisting arrest.

SWAT officers patrolling downtown and downtown west spotted a group of 30 to 40 motorcycles, dirt bikes and ATVs driving recklessly and performing stunts in an area with heavy vehicle and pedestrian traffic. When officers attempted a traffic stop, the group fled in a reckless manner.

Mills and Bolden each crashed their motorcycles during the attempt to escape and then tried to flee on foot. Both were detained at the scene.

Earlier the same day, officers had already been monitoring multiple street takeover attempts across South City and downtown. At around 4 p.m., police observed motorcycles and ATVs on S. Broadway in the Patch neighbourhood blocking traffic and performing stunts. Officers activated their lights and sirens, prompting most riders to disperse. A 30-year-old man from Peoria, Illinois, was arrested and issued traffic citations for reckless driving.

Police said they remained on alert throughout the day for further street takeover activity across the city.
