Two Orange Cove men held over fatal 3am highway shooting
Google News MT — Crime (en) reports that two suspects have been taken into custody following the fatal shooting of 19-year-old Adrian Ayala in Visalia, California.
Police arrested Fabian Rojas, 19, and Fabian Cerda, 18, both from Orange Cove, in connection with the killing. Ayala was also a resident of Orange Cove.
According to Ayala's family, the shooting took place on 21 August at around 3am as he was being driven home by a co-worker after finishing a shift at the Amazon Fulfillment Center in Visalia. Officers say it was a car-to-car shooting in which Ayala's vehicle was struck in the area of Alta and Nebraska Avenue.
Ayala had graduated from Orange Cove High School, where he was a decorated participant in the school's career technical education pathways. His family said he had at one point pursued a track toward becoming a firefighter — a goal he never had the opportunity to fulfil.
The Ayala family has organised a GoFundMe campaign to assist them during this period.
