Two found dead in murder-suicide at Colleyville home, Texas police say
A man and woman were found dead at a Colleyville, North Texas home on Saturday in what police describe as an apparent murder-suicide. No ongoing threat to the public has been identified.
Murder-suicide investigated at Bluebonnet Drive property in Colleyville
Colleyville Police Department are investigating the deaths of a man and a woman discovered at a residential address along the 5300 block of Bluebonnet Drive on Saturday afternoon, cbsnews.com reports.
Officers responded to the property at around 4:15 p.m. following a call for a death investigation. Both individuals were found unresponsive inside the home. Paramedics from the Colleyville Fire Department attended the scene and pronounced both dead.
Working alongside the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office, investigators determined that the woman had apparently sustained fatal gunshot wounds. The man appeared to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A handgun was recovered near the man.
Formal identification of both victims is pending completion by the medical examiner's office, with next of kin to be notified first.
Colleyville Police described the incident as isolated and said there is no ongoing threat to the surrounding public. The department extended condolences to the families of those affected.
Grapevine Police and North Richland Hills Crime Scene Investigations were credited with assisting in the case.
