An Uber Eats delivery driver punched a security guard repeatedly in the face during a brawl inside Barstool Sports' Midtown Manhattan headquarters on Monday, NY Post Metro reports.

Barstool founder Dave Portnoy posted video of the altercation to X, saying the driver had first gotten into a dispute with an employee named Gia over her order in the hallway. When 45-year-old security guard Dan stepped in and told the man to leave, the courier turned on him instead.

"An Uber Eats driver got in a fight with Gia in the hallway over her order," Portnoy wrote. "Our security guard Dan went into the hall to tell the guy to leave and he attacked him."

The NYPD confirmed officers were called to the Seventh Avenue office around 2 p.m. following a verbal dispute that turned physical. A 31-year-old man struck a 45-year-old man multiple times in the face, police said. A "person of interest" was subsequently taken into custody and an investigation is ongoing.

Footage posted by Portnoy shows the driver knocking the guard to the floor, dragging him across the ground, then dropping to his knees and continuing to strike him in the face. Three Barstool employees intervened to pull the courier away from the guard, who kept swinging as they tried to restrain him. Staff eventually subdued the man and called 911.

The security guard was treated at the scene, according to police. Portnoy wrote that the guard "may need a few stiches [sic] and a couple beers," adding: "All in all another day at the Stool."

Portnoy also used the incident to take a swipe at Mayor Zohran Mamdani, whom he has previously said he would consider running against in a mayoral election. "Shoutout Mandami's [sic] NYC," he wrote sarcastically.

Uber said it has removed the driver from its platform. "We are horrified by the conduct displayed. Violence is never tolerated, and we've removed the courier's access to the Uber platform," a company spokesperson said in a statement to The Post. "We stand ready to assist police however we can."

Barstool Sports did not immediately respond to a request for comment. It remains unclear what initially triggered the confrontation between the driver and the employee.
