YouTuber EDP445 faces four felony sex charges after Nevada arrest
Bryant Moreland, the YouTube personality known online as "EDP445," was arrested Wednesday in Henderson, Nevada on four felony sex crime charges involving a minor, fox5vegas.com reports. The charges originate from a California case dating back to 2021.
Henderson Police Department said Moreland was taken into custody on a warrant shortly before noon on 4 November, near Green Valley and Pebble. He was subsequently booked into the Clark County Detention Center, where he remained as of Thursday.
The Kern County District Attorney's Office in California confirmed the charges relate to a 2021 investigation involving a victim under the age of 14. At the time, Moreland was not charged because reporting parties did not cooperate with law enforcement, officials said.
Prosecutors say the case was revived by statements Moreland made in a 2026 documentary titled "The Sick Mind of EDP445." Documentary filmmaker Mike Clum said most of the production was filmed in Las Vegas, where Moreland had been residing.
"I was surprised when the investigation was opened," Clum said. "I was reached out to by Kern County. Obviously, my documentary footage — while the intent wasn't to gather evidence — it ended up being evidence."
In footage from the documentary, Moreland addressed the allegations directly, at one point referencing his actions involving a 13-year-old and attributing them to "desperation."
Clum described Moreland's demeanour during filming as inconsistent. "He processes what happened, he goes through phases," Clum said. "There's times he feels remorse... then he extroverts that and says that's someone else's fault. It depends on his mood."
Moreland previously accumulated millions of subscribers on YouTube before becoming one of the platform's most prominent controversial figures following the initial allegations.
Fellow content creator Jidion Adams, known online as "JiDion," flew from Texas to Henderson specifically to witness the arrest. Adams operates an investigative group called "EDP Watch," and said Moreland's prolonged evasion of prosecution had been the driving force behind the group's broader tracking efforts.
"This arrest was so important because he's one of ours, sadly," Adams said. "We all have been wanting this to happen for so long. It's been an inside joke in our community of, like, he's untouchable. He can't get arrested."
"The reason why we're doing this is because EDP was the one that got away," Adams added. "So to finally have that happen where he's finally caught and arrested and finally facing the charges that he should have been facing five years ago... everybody collectively for one time on the internet all came together."
As of Thursday, officials had not confirmed any local charges against Moreland in Las Vegas or Clark County. The Clark County Detention Center declined an interview request, citing Moreland's housing location within the facility.
Moreland is scheduled to appear before a judge in Las Vegas on Monday.
