Fatal shooting in downtown London, Ontario — one man dead, suspect arrested
A man was shot and killed near Central Avenue and Richmond Street in London, Ontario on Tuesday afternoon. Police have a suspect in custody and are seeking witnesses.

According to cbc.ca, London police responded to a shooting near Central Avenue and Richmond Street on Tuesday at approximately 5:45 p.m. Officers found a man suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. He was transported to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police have not released the victim's name.
Witnesses told CBC News they saw a person run out of the entrance of an apartment building on Central Avenue around the time of the shooting. Police have not officially confirmed the exact location of the incident.
A suspect has been arrested. Officers have maintained a visible presence in the area since Tuesday, with a constable stationed outside a second-floor apartment unit on Wednesday afternoon. Police vehicles were also seen at the scene.
Hyacinth Henry, who owns a business directly across the street from the building, said she did not see or hear anything at the time. "It's very sad that things like that could happen right across from us," she said.
Investigators are appealing to anyone who was in the area between 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. and may have information, dash-cam footage, or surveillance video to contact the London Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
