kingstondaily.ca reports that Kingston Police have issued a public warning after an elderly resident was robbed of two gold necklaces and a medical alert bracelet during a street interaction with two suspects.

According to investigators, one suspect — wearing a head covering or scarf — approached the victim and offered a rose. A second suspect remained nearby in an SUV. During the exchange, the first suspect removed the jewelry from the victim and replaced each item with imitation pieces.

Police have released no further description of either suspect or the vehicle involved.

Officers are reminding residents to remain vigilant when approached by strangers offering gifts or requesting assistance.
