Road rage suspect brandished edged weapon in New Westminster traffic
On Sept. 2 at approximately 4:15 p.m., a woman driving near 6th Avenue and Eighth Street in New Westminster reported being confronted by another driver who stepped out of a red Dodge Ram and waved an edged weapon at her in the middle of traffic.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 40s, slim build, with a moustache and balding hair. Police are asking anyone who witnessed the confrontation or recorded it on a dashboard camera between 4:10 and 4:20 p.m. to call 604-525-5411, citing file #26-15256.
Tips sought on second anniversary of Tania Langley's disappearance
Tania Langley, 53, was reported missing on Sept. 5, 2024. Her body was found less than two weeks later, on Sept. 17, along the Fraser River near Mission. As the second anniversary of her disappearance approaches, Chilliwack RCMP are renewing their call for information.
Investigators continue to believe the circumstances surrounding Langley's disappearance and death are suspicious.
"Tania was deeply loved and is profoundly missed by her family. She was a daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and friend whose kindness and generosity touched everyone who knew her," read a statement from her family. "As we mark two years since her disappearance, we are asking anyone with information about what happened to her to come forward."
Langley was a white woman, 5-foot-1 and 90 pounds, with short brown-grey hair and green eyes. She had tattoos on her arm featuring vines, flowers and her children's names. Two men sought after violent outburst at downtown Vancouver restaurant
Vancouver Police are searching for two men caught on video storming into Burger Crush, a fast-food restaurant at Nelson and Howe streets in downtown Vancouver, on a Friday evening.
Footage circulating on social media shows a table and bench flipped upside down inside the restaurant. One man was filmed standing on a bench and shouting, "I got murder charges, I got guns," while the other stood at the counter throwing items at staff.
"It is disturbing and unacceptable, not just to police, but to the staff and patrons of the restaurant," said Insp. Erin Roulston with the Vancouver Police. Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage and other available evidence to determine whether criminal charges are warranted. Anyone who can identify the individuals is asked to call 604-717-3321.
Two charged following three-year illegal gambling investigation in Metro Vancouver
Two individuals have been charged following a more than three-year investigation into an illegal gambling operation spanning Burnaby and Vancouver, the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of B.C.'s gaming investigation team announced.
The probe began in March 2023 with scrutiny of an illegal gambling website and expanded into multiple gaming houses across the Metro Vancouver region. Searches of properties in Burnaby and Vancouver led to the seizure of approximately 145 kilograms of illegal tobacco, around $240,000 in cash, gambling tables and equipment, and numerous electronic devices including cellphones, tablets, laptops and digital video recorders.
Charges were approved on Aug. 26. Shahrouz Younesi, a 54-year-old Burnaby resident, faces charges of keeping a common gaming house and selling unstamped tobacco products. A second individual, Xiaoyi, was also charged in connection with the operation, according to the investigation team's announcement.
