Kentville Police Rearrest Convicted Sex Offender on Release Violations

Authorities in Kentville, Nova Scotia, have placed a repeat sex offender behind bars again, accusing him of ignoring the restrictions tied to his recent release. Matthew Rozins was taken into custody and formally accused of three separate breaches of his court order, according to an online statement issued by the local police force.

The department indicated that community members raised alarms at the start of the week, claiming Rozins had stepped into an area that judges had ordered him to avoid. Detectives moved quickly to find the man and book him on allegations that he disregarded the geographic limits set by his release paperwork.

Rozins is no stranger to law enforcement; his prior convictions for sexual crimes stretch across more than one province. In fact, police had circulated a public warning about him just weeks before this latest incident. He is expected to face a judge at Kentville provincial court on the 4th of November.
