Google News CA — Crime (EN) reports that the RCMP Federal Policing Eastern Region has arrested two Air Canada employees on cocaine and cannabis trafficking charges connected to operations at Montréal-Trudeau Airport.

The two suspects hold positions related to ground operations at Air Canada. According to investigators, they allegedly conspired to move luggage through secure airport zones to facilitate the importation of cocaine and the exportation of cannabis.

Search warrants were executed early on August 26 at two residences and a vehicle in the greater Montréal area. With Air Canada's cooperation, a search was also conducted at the employees' work base in Dorval.

The investigation, led by the Airport and Federal Investigations Detachment, began in May 2026 following a Canada Border Services Agency operation. That operation resulted in the interception of 62.5 kg of cocaine concealed in backpacks aboard a flight arriving from Punta Cana. Over the course of the probe, an additional 56 kg of cannabis were seized.

The two individuals have been questioned and released pending further proceedings. The RCMP states that analysis of the collected evidence could lead to additional arrests and charges.
