Two arrested after $15,000 charity cyclists' bikes stolen in Winnipeg
Two men have been arrested in Winnipeg over the theft of high-end bikes belonging to cyclists raising funds for men's mental health. One bike was recovered; the other remains missing.

Two men have been arrested in Winnipeg in connection with the theft of two high-end road bikes worth a combined $15,000, Global News Crime reports.
The bikes belonged to a pair of New Brunswick men cycling across Canada to raise money for men's mental health and Movember Canada. The bicycles were taken from a car rack parked in the 400 block of Portage Avenue in late July.
On Aug. 7 at 5:30 p.m., patrolling officers spotted a 60-year-old man riding one of the stolen bikes in the 1800 block of Bannatyne Avenue West. He was arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, then released on an appearance notice. That bike was returned to its owner.
Investigators subsequently identified a second suspect after determining the 60-year-old had acquired the bike through a trade with the alleged original thief.
A 42-year-old man was arrested on Sunday at the intersection of Notre Dame Avenue and Balmoral Street, police said, during proactive enforcement related to the open drug use initiative. Officers also seized a small amount of methamphetamine at the time of the arrest.
He faces two counts of theft over $5,000, trafficking in property obtained by crime over $5,000, and possession of fentanyl. He was also charged in connection with an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with probation conditions.
The second stolen bike has not yet been recovered.
