Delta Police seek white Dodge Ram linked to woman's death in burned field
Delta Police are asking for the public's help identifying the driver or registered owner of a white truck spotted near the scene where a woman's body was found last week, Vancouver Sun Crime reports.
Staff Sgt. Mike Whiteley, spokesman for the Delta Police Department, confirmed Monday in a news release that investigators are treating the death as suspicious. The woman's body was found in a field in the 6400-block of River Road after emergency services were dispatched to extinguish a fire there on the morning of Aug. 26.
Police have received video footage showing a white Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab in the Tilbury area between midnight on Aug. 25 and the morning of Aug. 26, Whiteley said. Investigators are now working to identify who was behind the wheel or who owns the vehicle.
The 6400-block of River Road is a sparsely populated stretch, flanked by industrial buildings to the north and farmland to the south. Firefighters responding to the blaze discovered the woman's remains only after the fire had been extinguished.
The woman has not yet been identified. Delta Police said the investigation remains ongoing and urged anyone with information about the white Dodge Ram — or its driver — to come forward.
