Argentine security forces discovered a haul of marijuana distributed across 19 packages inside a coach travelling along National Route 9. The suspect was arrested and held incommunicado.

Officers from Squad 59 "Santiago del Estero" carried out a control operation on National Route No. 9, at kilometre 930. They stopped a passenger coach that was making shopping runs between Orán, Salta, and Mendoza province.
During the vehicle inspection, the uniformed officers noticed that one of the occupants was carrying several domestic appliances. Among them were deep fryers, speakers and electric ovens. The initial inspection raised suspicions, prompting the officers to examine the contents more thoroughly.
Upon opening the appliances, they found 19 irregular packages whose characteristics matched the typical packaging of narcotics. A field test returned a positive result for cannabis sativa. The total amount seized came to 16 kilos and 895 grammes of the substance.
Following the discovery, Federal Court No. 2 was contacted, which ordered the opening of a case file, the seizure of the drugs, and the detention of the passenger, who was held incommunicado.
