Anti-drug operation in Rivadavia dismantles sales point concealed in neighbourhood kiosk

A 46-year-old man was arrested in the Wilkinson neighbourhood of Rivadavia following a raid that dismantled a drug sales point operating under the guise of a neighbourhood kiosk, according to canal13sanjuan.com. At the location, 100 grams of cocaine, 18 home-made marijuana cigarettes and four mobile phones were seized.

The operation was led by the Illegal Drugs Department D-5, with tactical support from the G.E.R.A.S. Group. The judicial measure resulted from a three-month investigation aimed at verifying the distribution flow being carried out at the premises.

When security forces entered, doses of cocaine ready for distribution were found arranged on a plate alongside weighing equipment. The remaining compacted substance was found hidden in a cupboard. Cash sums, a digital precision scale and materials used for the division and adulteration of illicit substances were also removed from the location.

According to police sources, the suspect used the kiosk's commercial activity to justify the constant flow of people at the residence. The seized cocaine was distributed between packets ready for sale and compacted pieces.

Following the completion of the operation, the detainee was taken to the Provincial Prison Service. He was charged with alleged violation of the National Drug Law No. 23,737 and placed at the disposal of the competent court.
