16-year-old flees police in Steyregg – loaded blank-firing pistol found in car
A 16-year-old sped away from police near Steyregg, driving without a licence and with stolen number plates. Officers found a loaded blank-firing pistol in the vehicle.

According to Google News AT — Crime (de), police officers noticed a car on the B3 near Steyregg at approximately 18.15 on 25 August whose driver immediately accelerated upon seeing the patrol car. The driver attempted several overtaking manoeuvres, crossing solid lines and ignoring a stop sign.
Behind the wheel was a 16-year-old from the Linz-Land district. He eventually parked the vehicle at a petrol station and fled on foot together with his 18-year-old passenger from the Perg district. After a brief pursuit, the officers caught up with the teenager. The passenger returned to the vehicle of her own accord.
During the subsequent inspection, police officers discovered a loaded blank-firing pistol in the car and secured it. The number plates attached to the vehicle had been reported as stolen. The 16-year-old also did not possess a valid driving licence.
