According to Google News AT — Crime (de), a 22-year-old was arrested on Lerchenfelder Gürtel in Vienna on Friday morning at approximately 8.30 a.m. after allegedly attempting to break into two business premises.

Police were alerted after a man reportedly struck the door of a business premises with an iron bar. When officers arrived, they discovered the suspect already inside the premises.

A witness told police that the man had previously also struck the door of another business premises at Koppstraße 2. Officers at the scene established corresponding damage. However, the suspect apparently did not gain entry to this second premise.

The 22-year-old Syrian national was taken into provisional custody. He faces charges on suspicion of burglary and attempted burglary. Further investigations have been taken over by the Vienna State Criminal Police Office, West branch.
