Aggressive driver without licence flees in Carinthia
A 45-year-old man from the Spittal district led police on a chase on Tuesday. The driver had been reported as allegedly intoxicated at around 5 p.m.
A patrol car crew from Bad Kleinkirchheim spotted the described car. However, the driver did not respond to the officers' stop signals and instead accelerated. At an intersection, he drove over two central islands and damaged two traffic signs in the process.
With blue lights and sirens activated, police pursued the vehicle and eventually managed to stop it. The 45-year-old behaved in a hostile manner towards the officers and had to be taken into custody. A breath alcohol test showed a positive reading.
As the man's driving licence had already been revoked previously, it could not be revoked again. The Spittal district authority will receive a charge against him.
