In 2019, a Burgenland man used a stun gun to discipline his eight-year-old stepson. The 41-year-old has now been convicted in Eisenstadt.
The boy had to repeat first class. When he did not cooperate with his homework, the stepfather stood behind him with a device disguised as a torch. It made sounds that frightened the boy.
The now 16-year-old told the court that he was never directly touched, but experienced great fear. Once he even cried.
The defendant admitted to using the device. However, he said it was a novelty item. He said he only wanted the boy to study. He said he was the family's voice of reason.
The court imposed three months' imprisonment suspended for three years. The verdict is not yet final.
