The investigation by the Graz-Umgebung district police command began in September 2025, after information was received about a flourishing drug trade in a park in Feldkirchen. Targeted checks led to the arrest of a 21-year-old Turkish citizen at the time. Subsequent investigations brought two further suspects into focus: a 27-year-old Austrian and an 18-year-old Russian citizen.
According to the investigation, the three men obtained at least 35 kilograms of cannabis herb as well as 600 grammes of cocaine through foreign sources of supply and distributed the drugs south of Graz. They used so-called "bunker apartments" in Graz and the surrounding area as hideouts – one of which the 27-year-old from the Graz-Umgebung district is said to have operated himself.
From autumn 2025 to spring 2026, several arrests and seizures took place in the course of the investigation. According to police, a serious assault in connection with the drug milieu was also the subject of the court proceedings. The court also declared €100,000 forfeit.
Court proceedings are still pending against a number of other persons who were identified in the course of the investigation as drug users.
