A 32-year-old operator of a pub had to answer to the Innsbruck Regional Court once again. The trigger was the failure to settle a fine imposed within the framework of an out-of-court settlement within the prescribed timeframe.
The woman from Unterland had previously been charged with having sold furnishings and fittings from her rented restaurant business, estimated to be worth approximately 40,000 euros, without authorisation, and having concealed this from the bankruptcy administrator. In the first trial in January, she disputed the charges. The judge dismissed the point regarding concealment due to insufficient evidence. However, for the unlawful sale, he imposed a monetary penalty of 1,000 euros and ordered compensation of 2,000 euros to be paid to the landlord.
Although the defendant paid both amounts, she did so only after the set deadline had passed. For this reason, the matter was brought back to court. At the retrial on Tuesday, the presiding judge established that both sums had since been settled. He decided to show leniency and dismissed the case definitively, although he could have rejected the late transfer.
