A 42-year-old Austrian is alleged to have threatened his former live-in partner. In addition, he announced his intention to shoot at police officers.
After the man left the house and it initially remained unclear whether he was armed, police initiated extensive search measures. A drone equipped with thermal imaging camera technology located the suspect behind the residential house. He was provisionally arrested — at the time of arrest he was unarmed.
However, he is alleged to have had drugs on him. During the subsequent search of the residential house, officers secured an improperly stored long-barrelled weapon as well as ammunition.
A restraining order and prohibition on approach as well as a provisional weapons ban were imposed on the 42-year-old. He was charged on released pending trial for suspected dangerous threats and under the Narcotics Act. Additionally, two administrative charges were laid under the Weapons Act.
