Emergency services discovered a lifeless man in a building in the eastern district of Klagenfurt on Wednesday morning. Police officers were alerted at around half past eight and found the deceased already present when they arrived.
The body lay in a workshop of the building. Upon initial examination, officers observed significant injuries to the head of the deceased. Whether these directly caused death remains uncertain for now.
The Carinthian State Criminal Police Office is leading the investigation. Investigators are keeping all possibilities open – external influence as a cause is also not being ruled out.
Several patrol cars, forensic technicians and search dogs were deployed at the scene. The area around the building was sealed off to allow the investigation to proceed without disturbance.
