On Tuesday evening, officers from the water police conducted routine inspections at the Völkermarkt reservoir in the Völkermarkt district together with nature conservation officers. The task force noticed a moored cabin cruiser aboard which a 43-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman were present.

During the inspection of the two persons, according to police statements, there were external indicators suggesting the consumption of intoxicating substances. The individuals subsequently voluntarily consented to a search of the vessel.

In the process, the police officers discovered several illegal drugs. In addition to marijuana, they found a syringe already filled with a colourless solution, as well as white, crystal-like substances. These items were seized.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated against the couple. The authorities initially made no statements regarding the exact nature of the seized substances and their possible further distribution.
