According to El Deber, the confrontation broke out when agents intervened at a clandestine airstrip in the Cochabamba tropical zone.
At the location, anti-drugs personnel discovered an aircraft that was allegedly being used for transporting controlled substances. The circumstances of the discovery led to an armed clash with individuals who were at the airstrip and who are believed to be linked to drug trafficking.
