Shortly before 12 o'clock, a man called the St.Gallen emergency services and dispatch centre and made threats. As linth24.ch reports, officers from the St.Gallen cantonal police subsequently established the identity of the caller: a 43-year-old Swiss man who was believed to be at his place of residence. Several operational units and specialist personnel were then dispatched to the scene.
Shortly before 3 p.m., the 43-year-old was persuaded to leave the building. He was arrested without resistance. There was no danger to the public at any time.
The man will be reported to the public prosecutor's office of the Canton of St.Gallen. Several patrols and specialist services of the cantonal police were deployed, along with an ambulance with an operational leader for medical services and an emergency doctor.
