An unauthorised poker game in an industrial hall in Tübach was shut down by law enforcement authorities. The operation took place during the night into Saturday.
The Swiss Gambling Commission (ESBK) had ordered the raid. During the search, approximately 50 uniformed officers encountered 18 guests. They were searched and questioned.
The investigators secured several thousand Swiss francs in cash, chips, electronic devices and firearms. The ESBK, which serves as both regulatory and law enforcement authority for legal casinos, initiated criminal proceedings.
Under current law, offering or organising casino games without a licence is punishable. The possible penalty includes up to five years in prison or a fine.
