Thurgau cantonal police arrested two men in the early hours of Thursday in Frauenfeld who were driving a stolen van. According to sarganserlaender.ch, a patrol noticed the vehicle's conspicuous driving manner shortly after 3.30 a.m.
During the subsequent check, it emerged that the 37-year-old driver of Algerian origin did not have a valid driving licence. A breath alcohol test showed a value of over 1.5 per mille. Police ordered a blood test and a urine sample.
Further investigations revealed that the van had previously been stolen from an unlocked car park. The officers arrested not only the driver but also the passenger, a 45-year-old Moroccan. Both men were reported to the public prosecutor's office.
