Two 20-year-old women and an 18-year-old man are said to have smashed windows and sprayed walls on Tuesday evening. The damage runs into thousands.

Shortly before 19:45 on Tuesday evening, the control room of Zurich City Police received an emergency call. Several people had appeared outside the building of the American Consulate in the district of Kreis 8, had shouted slogans loudly and apparently caused property damage.
When patrol officers arrived at the scene, they found broken windows and facades sprayed with paint. In the course of an immediate search of the surrounding area, officers were able to locate three suspects and establish their identities.
They are two female Swiss nationals, both twenty years old, and a male compatriot aged eighteen. Police took the trio into preliminary custody. According to initial estimates by the authorities, the material damage to the consulate building amounts to several thousand francs.
