Shortly after 11 p.m. in the night leading into Sunday, a 29-year-old crept onto a camping ground on Promenadenstrasse in Kreuzlingen TG. There, he opened an unlocked caravan and ransacked the interior. He stole various items.
Several people present at the site noticed the incident and called the Thurgau cantonal police. The perpetrator initially fled with his haul.
Shortly afterwards, officers spotted the suspect near the federal asylum centre. He still had the stolen goods on him. The police arrested the man and took him into custody.
