The patrol officers who arrived apprehended a 34-year-old man from Thailand. He offered strong resistance during his arrest. The attacked woman, a 27-year-old Swiss national, suffered undetermined injuries. Emergency medical personnel brought her to hospital for treatment.
The incident has been classified by the prosecuting authorities as a domestic dispute in a public place. The St. Gallen cantonal police are investigating the circumstances together with the public prosecutor's office. The suspect is in custody.
