Two Portuguese twin sisters were arrested at Geneva airport in Switzerland on suspicion of drug trafficking. Leila and Laila Lourenço, both aged 22, were intercepted by customs services whilst transporting significant quantities of cannabis in their baggage.
The two young women had been considered uncontactable on Portuguese territory; their whereabouts were unknown until their arrest on Swiss territory. The information was revealed by the newspaper Correio da Manhã.
Swiss authorities seized several kilograms of narcotic substance during inspection of the suspects' baggage. The case is currently under investigation by the competent authorities of the country of detention.
