Lucerne police arrested a married couple last Saturday who are suspected of systematically plundering packages. The alleged perpetrators are believed to have committed at least 83 offences since October 2024.
The 45-year-old man was employed as a driver for a transport company. Together with his 51-year-old wife, he is alleged to have stolen jewellery, mobile phones and clothing from packages that he transported on his route. The stolen goods are believed to be worth more than 135,000 francs.
During a search of their flat, investigators secured the alleged stolen goods. The couple originate from Serbia and Croatia. The Public Prosecutor's Office for Specialised Offences has requested pre-trial detention for both defendants. The presumption of innocence applies.
