Zurich nursing professional in court: Botox, rape and child pornography
According to watson.ch, a 27-year-old nursing professional has been standing trial before Zurich District Court since Thursday. The man, who works regularly in operating theatres, is accused of presenting himself to customers as a doctor – without the necessary qualifications.
According to the indictment, over the course of roughly two years he injected Botox in a cosmetics studio, filled cheeks and lips with hyaluronic acid and offered so-called "vampire lifting". In this procedure, the patient's own blood is centrifuged and the platelet-rich plasma is injected into the skin. "Fat-removal injections" were also part of his offering.
On Instagram, the accused advertised "Easter specials" and "Mother's Day offers", partly with before-and-after photos. Public advertising for prescription medicines is prohibited in Switzerland. With approximately 200 treatments, he achieved turnover of over 100,000 francs; the prosecution estimates the profit at around 40,000 francs.
In addition to the illegal cosmetic treatments, the 27-year-old is accused of raping and sexually coercing an acquaintance. He is also alleged to have viewed and forwarded images with child and animal pornographic content.
The prosecution is seeking a prison sentence of 6.5 years as well as a fine and a penalty. The prison sentence is to be served, whilst the fine is to be suspended. Additionally, the prosecution is requesting that the accused repay 40,000 francs from the illegal treatments to the state.
He is charged with offences including bodily injury, violations of the Therapeutic Products Act, breach of the Health Act, rape, sexual coercion and pornography. When the district court will deliver its verdict remains open.
