The Bernese cantonal police conducted a focused nine-day operation against pickpocketing and confidence fraud in the Lauterbrunnen region and on the Jungfraujoch. According to a statement released by the authorities, 15 people were detained during the course of this operation.

Several of those checked were subsequently taken into provisional custody. After evidence had been secured, these individuals were expelled from the canton of Bern, the police stated.
