During a targeted control operation in Ostermundigen, the Bern cantonal police arrested a drug dealer. A house search brought to light approximately one kilogramme of heroin, cocaine and cash.

In Ostermundigen, an alleged dealer was caught in a net on Thursday afternoon during a targeted operation by plainclothes police officers. At around 17.10 hours, officers from the Bern cantonal police conducted a check of two individuals – a seller and a buyer – on the basis of ongoing surveillance measures.
The suspect, who is alleged to have sold the substances, resisted the arrest forcefully. He shouted and ultimately had to be restrained by the responding officers. Subsequently, the officers brought both men to the station. Whilst the alleged buyer was released that evening, the dealer remained in custody.
During a subsequent residential search, another man came into the sights of the investigators. He too was temporarily detained and later released. The search brought a substantial drug cache to light: officers seized approximately one kilogramme of heroin, almost 90 grammes of cocaine, approximately 300 grammes of cutting agent, and several sums of money in different currencies.
The Bern-Mittelland public prosecutor's office initiated criminal proceedings. The precise origin of the drugs and possible accomplices are the subject of ongoing investigations.
