A violent attack occurred early Friday in a Zurich neighbourhood, in which a young adult was seriously injured. At approximately 6.30 a.m., Zurich City Police received an emergency call reporting that someone was injured at the corner of Brauerstrasse and Langstrasse.
Officers found a 24-year-old at the scene with serious injuries to the upper body. Emergency medical personnel attended to the victim and transported him to a hospital. According to preliminary investigation results, the injuries are stab wounds.
On the afternoon of the same day, investigators from Zurich Cantonal Police succeeded in apprehending a suspect. The arrested person is a 44-year-old Swiss national who was taken to a police station for questioning.
Why the attack occurred and exactly how the incident unfolded remains unclear at this time. Experts from the Zurich Institute of Forensic Medicine and forensic pathology were brought in to secure evidence. Further investigations are being conducted by Public Prosecutor I for serious violent crime together with the Cantonal Police.
