On Thursday evening, a shot rang out in a rehabilitation clinic in Faido. A 59-year-old man from the region had killed his former partner. The couple had parted ways approximately two decades earlier. Video recordings show that the perpetrator remained in the facility for around sixty minutes.
The man then fled to a building in Leontica in the Bleniotal. Investigators located him only the next day. There, the suspect detonated an explosive charge that injured police officers. The authorities suspect that it was a deliberate trap.
The region remained shocked several days after the incident. The investigations are ongoing.
