The police in Winterthur have arrested four Montenegrins who held a Slovak against his will in a flat. The operation took place during the night of Tuesday.

On Monday evening in Wallisellen, four men who were known to the victim forced the 46-year-old into a car under threat. They then took him to a flat in Winterthur and held him there captive.

At 2 a.m., the Zurich cantonal police received a corresponding report. Winterthur city police rushed to the address and found the victim and two of the alleged perpetrators there. The two 42-year-old arrested men are from Montenegro. The 46-year-old Slovak remained physically unharmed.

In the course of investigations, officers were able to locate and arrest two further suspects. These are a 30-year-old and a 35-year-old, both also from Montenegro. After questioning, officers handed all four men over to the public prosecutor's office.

The responsible prosecutor applied for pre-trial detention for each individual. The exact circumstances of the deed and the motives of the perpetrators remain unclear and are the subject of further investigations. These are being conducted by the Zurich cantonal police together with the public prosecutor's office.
