In the early hours of Friday, several unknown individuals gained access to a firearms shop in Wallbach in the canton of Aargau. The incident occurred shortly before 5 a.m. The entrance door of the shop was completely destroyed in the process.
The burglars were disturbed by an alarm system and, according to investigators' current findings, were unable to steal anything. The Aargau cantonal police then launched an extensive search operation, which also involved other cantons and foreign jurisdictions. Within a few hours, several suspects were arrested by colleagues in Basel-Landschaft.
During the detention, two police officers sustained injuries and had to undergo medical examination. The public prosecutor's office has initiated proceedings. The Aargau cantonal police are continuing their investigation.
